Today we are throwing it back to an iconic, mid-December show at Dan’s Silverleaf. Denton’s own Centro-matic rocked their last three shows ever performed as a whole band, and we were there. Our Director of Photography, Marcus Junius Laws, captured the show, band, and all the memories over the course of the three evenings. Check out our gallery below.
It was a chilly Friday evening, and I was excited for numerous reasons: Friday, obviously, and getting to see Centro-matic one last time and at none other than my favorite bar and venue in town, Dan’s Silverleaf. I arrived to Dan’s during a Telegraph Canyon sound check, which put an immediate smile on my face.
The bar was buzzing and I’m not sure if it was the holiday spirit, the boozy-spirits, or the sheer excitement for the show I was about to see. Maybe it was all three. If ‘Cheers‘ was a bar in Denton, it would be Dan’s Silverleaf.
Fort Worth band, Telegraph Canyon delivered an amazing set per usual. There is something electric about watching Tamara Cauble play violin, y’all. And then Centro-matic played. Let me start off by saying that I really hope you have had a chance to see them live in the last seventeen years they’ve been together, before this weekend. Will Johnson’s presence is entrancing; Centro-matic absolutely rocked the entire crowd. It was a great evening to say goodbye to one of the most iconic Denton bands.
Centro-matic played back-to-back-to-back shows at Dan’s Silverleaf over the weekend of December 19th. All shows sold out and we hope you got a chance to see these iconic Denton legends play their hearts our for us, for the last time. Which one did you make it out to?
