GDAC – Karma Yoga: Monday Nights at the GDAC – 6:00 p.m.
Monday nights at the GDAC are about to be real zen, y’all. Starting this week, Karma Yoga will be moving from the lawn on the Square over to the Greater Denton Arts Council Building on the corner of Hickory Street and Bell Avenue. This class will move forward as a suggested $5 donation class, with proceeds going to support the Arts of Denton. Hop over to the GDAC for some post-work relaxation pre-beer action courtesy of our friends at Karma Yoga. Namaste, y’all!

Ran out of time for Karma Yoga at the GDAC? Not to worry, Harvest House and Karma Yoga have you covered. Pop over to Harvest House every Wednesday morning for the 10am all-ages class. Drop-ins are only $5, and mats are available for use if you are sans mat. Stick around after that last asana for a yoga-inspired juice handcrafted by some of the best bartenders around.
Wine Squared – Chocolate + Wine Pairing Class – 7:00 p.m.
Wine. Chocolate. Wine Squared. All at the same time? You read right. For $20 per person, the friendly ladies and gents of Wine Squared will play host to a five-course meal on one of the best patios in Denton, complete with a detailed overview of which wines pair with popular stylings of chocolate that you can share with all of your fellow semi-sommeliers. RSVP required, you’re gonna want to grab a Wandervan for this one!
Harvest House – Sol Kitchen – 8:30 p.m.
Man oh man, do we love us some Sol Kitchen. Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, catch Denton’s cream of the crop of jazz musicians as they lay down some of the sickest improvisational jams your ears might ever hear. Did we mention its free? Goes great with a pork belly taco’s from HH’s very own taco truck, Coup de Taco.
The Bearded Monk – Grand Opening – 6:00 p.m.
Not sure about y’all, but we’re pretty pumped around here for The Bearded Monk to make its grand debut. Complete with an eclectic craft beer bottle selection AND growler bar, this new one-stop-shop for all of your beer needs will play host to its Grand Opening this Wednesday. Stop by for some live art featuring local artist Sanford Black and a mini beer fest featuring local favorite breweries including our neighbors over at Audacity Brew House. Current Bearded Monk featured artist Nick Glover will be present to discuss his pop paintings, and there’s talk of live music as well. More on that later. This Wednesday, let’s give The Bearded Monk a good ol’ Denton welcome!
Downtown Denton Square – Back to the Future II Movie Night on the Square – 7:00 p.m.
Throwback Thursday starts a little early this week with a free public screening of “Back to the Future II” on the Courthouse Lawn, courtesy of our buddies over at Cross Timbers Community Church, We Denton Do It and the Collage Initiative. This is the same day Marty McFly was supposed to return to the future, here’s to hoping we’ll catch a glimpse of him this evening!

Dan’s Silverleaf – The Way Down Wanderers, A.M. Ramblers – 8:00 p.m.
Chicago five-piece modern-folk Americana group The Way Down Wanderers takes the stage at Dan’s Silverleaf on Wednesday night. Though a relatively new act (about 2 years) they’ve built an energetic following with their foot-stompin’ singalongs and addictive instrumentals. Denton darlings A.M. Ramblers open, which seals the deal on making this night a grand ol’ time. Doors at 8, $10 cover.

If you love post/math/psychedelic rock, then this lineup is definitely for you. Head over to Rubber Gloves this Thursday for a little taste of what Japan has to offer from their post-rock scene with some great local support including Denton’s own Biographies , with a dash of that funky town sound courtesy of Halfsleep and a dollop of Dallas’ own babes of Moon Waves. $8 pre-sale tickets, $10 at the door. Church of Saint David of Wales – Human Trafficking Prevention Seminar – 7:00 p.m.
In light of recent sex-trafficking events involving some of DFW’s own youth, national faith-based non profit Unbound Now will host an informative and educational seminar at the Church of Saint David of Wales. Unbound Now will instruct attendees on how one can identify and possibly prevent instances of victims within the Human Trafficking System. A great opportunity for all to learn how to protect our city and its people.
