Get thee to Dan’s tonight to catch a free show and throw a couple Lone Star tallboys in your face.

Sweetwater Grill & Tavern – Mardi Gras and The Vintage Jazz Society – 5 p.m.

Laissez les bon temps roulez at Sweetwater Grill & Tavern on Fat Tuesday with music from the Vintage Jazz Society of Denton. Come early to fill your bellies with a special menu packed with cajun fare, sip on daquaries and hurricanes, and enjoy the sunset on the patio.

Denton County Office of History & Culture – Gallery Talk with Barbara McCraw – 6 p.m.

In honor of Black History Month, the Denton County Office of History & Culture is celebrating the legacy of African-Americans through a series of special exhibitions and talks. Barbara McCraw will give a gallery talk of her works and discuss what inspires her creations.

Thursday, February 11

Oak St. Drafthouse – Deadpool Night – 6 p.m.

Head to Oak St. Drafthouse  for Deadpool night. More Fun Comics and Games with be handing out comics and Flatlanders Taco Company will be serving Deadpool’s favorite street tacos. Food and drink specials all night.

Dan’s Silver Leaf – Two Tons of Steel – 8 p.m.

Denton’s own Two Tons of Steel hits the stage at Dan’s Silver Leaf . Come out for some great Texas Country and self-proclaimed Texas Treasure!

Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios – PDA: An Underground Dance Party II – 8 p.m.

DJ Dreamlover and Slush will be playing the best underground jams for you to dance to. Entry is free! It’s a dance party so nice they did it twice.

J&J’s Pizza On The Square – Real Rad Record Presents: An Evening of Warmth with Kind Beats – 8:30 p.m.

Join Real Rad Records and Kind Beats for the Music To Cuddle To release party at J&J’s. Cover is $3 or a sweater/blanket to be donated. Come cuddle with your Valentine and Kind Beats. 18+.

Friday, February 12

Take your Valentine for the gift they really want, good beer. Join the Oak St. Drafthouse crew when they tap dat keg on Friday, Febraury 12th at 7 PM. Buy a Raspeberry Temptress and keep the glass.

J&J’s Pizza On The Square – FOGG, Crypt Trip, White Dog, Summit & Smoky Mirror – 8 p.m.

All ages, free show featuring FOGG, Crypt Trip, White Dog, Summit, and Smoky Mirror. Heavy jams and tasty pizza can’t lose.

Andy’s Bar – MD Presents: The Buffalo Parade, Stray Nimbus, The Southpaw Preachers, and Tungsten Wake – 8 p.m.

Check out Mildly Distorted Promotions first showcase of 2016 with The Buffalo Parade, Stray Nimbus, The Southpaw Preachers and Tungsten Wake. Cover is $5 and music begins at 9:30. Good times required.

Dan’s Silver Leaf – Love Stinks 2016 with Pearl Earl, Party Static, and Mink Coats – 9 p.m.

Love stinks so party hard. Four great bands for $10 and you don’t have to find a date. Pearl Earl, Party Static and Mink Coats will help you forget how alone you are this Valentine’s Day.

Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios – Ringo Deathstarr, Clear Acid, Rei Clone – 9 p.m.

Ringo Deathstarr will be headlining at RGRS. Start the evening with Clear Acid and Rei Clone. Tickets available online.

Marathon Motel & RV Campground – Dan’s Silver Leaf and Joe Pat Hennen Present: The Big Bender in Beautiful Marathon, TX – 5 p.m.

Enjoy the beauty and isolation of the Texas Big Bend region at the Marathon Motel and RV Campground with guest artists Butch Hancock (Friday), Cornell Hurd (Saturday) and Joe Pat Hennen’s Industrial Street Jug Band. Two nights of great music under the amazing, magical West Texas desert skies at The Marathon Motel’s beautiful garden patio. $75 per person gets you into both nights’ shows. BYOB | BYOF.

Saturday, February 13

Oak St. Drafthouse & Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studio – Keep Denton Thrashing – 6 p.m.

Denton is honoring everyone’s good friend, Nick Thrasher, with a night full of great local music, bar hopping and friends. Start at Oak St. Drafthouse at 6:00 to collect your special T-shirts and pint glass to take home then head over to Rubber Gloves to hear the mighty Doug Burr, Issac Hoskins, Huss, She Banshee, and DJ Yeadef. Close out the night with a special tribute from Spiderweb Salon. Come out and celebrate the life of Nick Thrasher and Keep Denton Thrashing.

Pink Cactus – Cygnus, Spice Boys, DJ Cymatic, Drunk in Public – 9 a.m.

$5 donation at the door. 9 a.m. seems a little early for a show, but we’re rolling with it. No jerks allowed.

Voertman’s Gallery – Weird Destiny – 6 p.m.

Voertman’s Gallery teamed up with Weird Destiny Productions to bring you some art coolness for Valentine’s Day. Plenty of fun interactive art, free coffee and donuts, as well as a performance by Squanto.

Gatsby’s Mansion – DCFoF Benefit / Mimisiku Album Release – 8 p.m.

An event to collect funds for Denton County Friends of Family to help women and children in need of a safe place. Donations of money, women’s or children’s clothing, diapers, toys and personal hygeine products will be accepted. Plenty of live music to enjoy with Better Now, Future Self, The Single Issues and Mimisiku.

Sprockets Bicycle and Coffee Shop – Fuck Love: A Valentine’s Day Showcase – 10 p.m.

No bae for Valentine’s Day? Sprockets will be your date. Cover at the Door is $7 or 2 for $12. Sounds by Elijah Heaps + Nikolai Rya, Alexander McCoy, Gorgeous Panda, The Kundalini Kids, and special performance by Tahja & The Stereotype.

Oak St. Drafthouse has generously offered to donate 10% of their total sales to OUTreach Denton on Valentine’s Day and Flatlanders Taco Company will be doing the same! Buy a $5 beer and get a FREE OUTreach Denton Love and Equality Valentine’s Day pint glass. Event lasts all day. Bring a friend, or two, and celebrate love at Oak St. Drafthouse.
