Margarita Monday on fleek! (Is that right?! Did I do that OK? I’m old.) It’s National Margarita Day! Some of your favorite spots around Denton will be hosting festivities and great specials in honor of this joyous occasion. We’ve included a link to Lucky Lou’s event but celebrate this holiday at the neon cathedral of your choice.

Wine Squared | Nice Up Your Monday | 3 p.m.

Wine Squared is offering an extended Happy Hour with special guests The Nice Up Crew who will be spinning mellow tunes tohelp you wine away the Monday blues. Half-price wine and beautiful weather have been offered and I think we’d all be dumb not to accept.

940’s Kitchen & Cocktails | Pop-Up Art Show Featuring Bailey K. Chapman | 5 p.m.

Denton Artist and drummer of Abacaba, Bailey K. Chapman, will be showcased at the second Pop-Up Art Show at 940’s Kitchen and Cocktails. Special cocktail menu featuring the Zodiac Black Cherry Basil Mule available exclusively for the event. Preview Baily’s art online at

Hickory & Fry | Open Mic Night | 7:30 p.m.

All performers are welcome to share their talents at the Hickory & Fry Open Mic Night hosted by Bret Crow. Signups start at 7:30 p.m. and the show begins at 8. Grab a bite to eat and enjoy some local talent.

Thursday, February 25th

Pink Cactus | Pearl Earl // Lochness Mobsters @ Pink Cactus | 9 p.m.

Lochness Mobsters is coming up from Austin and Pearl Earl is walking the few blocks it takes for them to get to Pink Cactus to delivery you some tasty music. Donations will be accepted. Doors at 9, music at 10.

Andy’s Bar | Pre-Granatum 2016: Short Film Showcase | 9 p.m.

Granatum presents an evening of short films including “Here” directed by Ryan Polly, winner of the 48 Hour Film Project Dallas 2015 for Best Directing, Best Editing and Runner-Up for Best Film, as well as nine other award winning short films. The film festival will be followed by a musical performance by Jared Caraway. 1124 Clothing will be selling handcrafted tees and tanks on site. $5 cover. 21+ only. Doors at 9 p.m.

Beth Marie’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream | Beth Marie’s Fundraising Event | 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Support Denton Country Friends of the Family by eating delicious ice cream. This is a no brainer. And if you eat an embarrisingly large amount of ice cream at the location on the square you can go to the second location on Wind River Lane and continuing supporting the cause there.

Taps & Caps Denton | A Night with BrainDead Brewing at Taps & Caps | 6 p.m.

I’m going to let you in on the best date night for you and your beer loving partner and it’s happening at Taps & Caps Denton this Thursday. Each ticket includes a four-course beer and food pairing (heck yeah eating!) plus the ability to purchase bottle of both Bent De Garde and Hammer of the Gods for the very first time outside of the BrainDead brewery. Murchison Performing Arts Center | UNT Opera & Concert Orchestra: The Mother of Us All | 8 p.m.

The Mother of Us All is an impassioned 20th century opera that chronicles the life of Susan B. Anthony, her tireless fight for women’s suffrage and the eventual ratification of the 19th Amendment. Join the UNT Opera and Concert Orchestra, conducted by Stephen Dubberly and directed by visiting professor David Ward, in a rare chance to hear this hypnotic and riveting opera.
